Glimpses of Special Visits

Melvin Fernandes a celebrated sound recordist and studio construction expert delivered a special lecture on October 19 2005 and spent a day with the JMI students on Sound Recording.
 
Surjit Singh, an expert on Public Understanding of Science working at National Institute of Science Technology and Development Studies, took a two day workshop (October 22 & 23, 2005) of JMI students on science communications.
 
P. Sainath, Asia's leading development journalist, visited JMI on October 24, 2005 and interacted with students. He spoke on the development communication and role of Media.
Prof. Hester du Plessis, Department of Art, Design and Architecture, University of Johannesburg, South Africa, visited JMI and spent 15 days from November 5 to 25, 2005. She taught development communication and research methodologies.
Jugal Kishore, a leading actor, director and playwright spent three days with the students of JMI, he took a workshop on acting, body movements, concentration, use of facial expressions and voice projection. It was a special course for television anchors held from December 1 to 4, 2005.
Hon’ble Dr. AR Kidwai inaugurated the renovated shooting studio of JMI on December 26, 2005. A delegation of 20 NRIs, and about 300 dignitaries from Lucknow, Barabanki and Faizabad also graced the occasion. 
Rakesh Andania, a recipient of many documentary film awards, producer and director, stayed with the students of JMI for two days January 5 to 7, 2006 and conducted a workshop on the ‘Important Elements of a Documentary Film’.
