The following guest lectures/workshops were held in JMI besides the regular teaching in the session 2007-07

 

8th December 2006: Mr Shaneer Siddiqui, Asst. Producer, India TV) delivered two-day lectures on the production of News in electronic media, working of a news channel, news agencies and print media.

3rd December 2006: Miss Tabassum, RJ in FM Rainbow conducted a workshop on various aspects of radio jockeying including voice modulation. She also conducted few concentration development exercises.

3rd December 2006: Mr Asit Saxena, Executive Producer in DD News delivered a lecture on broadcast journalism and the making of news bulletin for a news channel.

24th November 2006: A delegation of various Social Organizations led by Oxfam visited JMI and held discussion on the topic: “Education in Rural Areas of UP”

17th November 2006: Dr. Sandeep Pandey, A leading social activist and Ramon Magsaysay Award winner in 2002 visited JMI and delivered a lecture covering the following points: Right to Information Act and how to work on grass root level to save democracy. He greatly inspired his young audience at JMI.

19th November 2006: Mr Sohail Hashmi, Director, Leap Year delivered lectured on Organization Format of TV and Identity of India & Indians.

16th November 2006: Mr Atul Chandra, Resident Editor, Times of India, Lucknow delivered a Lecture on News Writing, Reporting & News Worthiness

15th November 2006: Mr Ajay Shivkoti, Documentary Film Maker from Nepal visited JMI and a film "People's Revolution" was screened and he delivered a lecture on “April Movement of Nepal”
 
12th November 2006: Mr Mohd Yunus, a social worker associated with Bachpan Bachao Andolan delivered a lecture on life conditions of Street Children.

19th October 2006: K Srinivas, Program Coordinator, Greenpeace, India delivered a lecture on activities of Greenpeace in India

12th October 2006: Mr Krishna Kumar, Ex General Secretary, BGVS delivered a lecture on Science Movement.

4th September 2006 to 23 September 2006: A three-member delegation namely Ms Hester du Plessis, Mr. Chris Bedlum and Mr. Angus Campbell, from the University of Johannesburg, visited Jahangirabad Media Institute, for a 3-week intensive session. They were here from 3rd September 2006 to 23rd September 2006. The teachers-researchers conducted workshops on various topics besides teaching in creative ways. It included classroom teaching as well as field trips to villages, and then the collection and processing of information. They also helped prepare, shoot and produce documentary films by students in groups. Besides that, they taught Corel Draw and Power Point to our students. Last but not the least, they gave certificates (on behalf of University of Johannesburg) and pen-drives to all our students and cash awards to some of the staff of the institute.

2nd September 2006: Prof. Rakesh Chandra delivered a Lecture on Areas of Gender Equality and Feminism

20th - 21st August 2006: Prof Ram Puniyani conducted a workshop on  Communalism, Terrorism and Freedom Movement in India

7th August 2006: Mr Arvind Mishra delivered a Lecture on Science and Science Fiction.

6th August 2006: Mr Rajesh Kataria delivered a lecture on Science Communication.

5th August 2006: Mr Tariq Badar delivered a Lecture on Bhimbetka – A World Heritage Site. He also discussed the methodology of scientific research in archeology.

From 2nd August 2006: Mr Ajay Shivpuri conducted a 10-Day Workshop on Corel Draw/Photoshop & MS. Office

28th July 2006: Mr Rakesh Andania delivered a lecture on Documentary Filmmaking and functions of a Production House

From 20th July 2006: Mr Sunil Kumar conducted an intensive 12-day workshop on Camera & Lighting
